Working Hard or Hardly Working

The edits on Ancient Sands continue.

However, sometimes I find that some days are harder than others. Some days I stare at a single sentence, rephrasing it six different ways until it’s just so. Some days, I skim whole chapters and realize I didn’t read a single word.

I remember reading a book where the main character was an author, and she had three works in progress at any point in time. One in development, one in writing, and one in edits. This always seemed rather sensible to me. That way, if you can’t wrap your mind around edits, you can spend time designing the next book!
